Surface Finishing
The final production operation is surface finishing, which is usually carried out in-house, i.e. directly at the premises of KASPER KOVO s.r.o.
Powder coating of steel, aluminium and stainless steel
A new state-of-the-art powder coating shop located in a new purpose-built hall has been in operation since 01/08/2008. The powder coating shop was designed with the emphasis on high flexibility of operation and final quality of finished products. Here we can carry out finishing of parts up to dimension 3000x1200x2000 mm (l x w x h). All machinery is placed to form a clock-operation line. Prior to application of powdered plastic, the parts are decreased and phosphate coated in a spray machine. A three-phase water-spray rinsing follows, when demineralised water is used during the third rinse. The parts are then dried in a chamber drier and moved into coating chambers where powdered plastic is applied. There are 2 chambers available for this operation. The final step is curing of applied powder in a curing oven at temperatures of 180 to 200° C.
Blasting and pickling of stainless steel
Construction of the new powder coating shop also created new areas for surface finishing of stainless steel parts, namely pickling and blasting boxes. The blasting box is equipped with technology for ceramic unification of stainless steel parts surfaces. Pickling box is used for local pickling of welds and their rinsing with pressurised water.
Environmental concerns
Part of the powder coating shop and stainless steel parts surface treatment shop is a shared disposal station that ensures environmentally sound disposal of used chemicals and waste.
